Kenpo Karate Self Defense Classes Available (Private/Group)
Kenpo Karate means "The Law of the Fist and the Empty Hand. It was created from a combination of Chinese Boxing arts, and is considered a traditionally progressive Self-defense art. Kenpo employs linear and circular concepts and principles of motion which flow with continuity and focus. It is a well balanced art form with a scientific base.

Thai Kick Boxing
Includes both hand and feet techniques. There are eight basic tools of Thai Kick Boxing: Fists, Elbows, Knees, and Legs

Boxing
Queensbury Rules of England is a combination of jabs, crosses, uppercuts, and hooks with footwork, combining slipping, parrying, bobbing, and weaving. Boxing enhances self-defense skills, conditioning, and self-confidence.

Grappling
This art of ground fighting utilizes Judo, Wrestling, and submission holds.

The Sport of Fencing (Group/Private)
Foil, epee and sabre are the three weapons used in the sport of fencing. Foil and epee are point-thrusting weapons. Sabre is a point-thrusting as well as a cutting weapon. The target areas differ for the three weapons. The main object of a fencing bout is to effectively score on your opponent before he/she score on you.
Foil
The foil has a flexible rectangular blade, approximately 35" long and weighing less than a pound. Points are scored with the tip of the blade. The valid target area in foil is the torso, from the shoulders to the groin, front and back. It does not include the arms, neck, head and legs.
Epee`
The epee (pronounced "epp-pay"), the descendant of the dueling sword, is similar in length to the foil, but is heavier, weighing approximately 27 ounces, with a larger guard (to protect the hand from a valid hit) and a much stiffer blade. Touches are scored only with the point of the blade. The entire body is the valid target area.
Sabre
The sabre is the modern version of the slashing cavalry sword and is similar in length and weight to the foil. The major difference is that the sabre is a thrusting weapon as well as a cutting weapon (use of the blade). The target area is from the bend of the hips (both front and back), to the top of the head, simulating the cavalry rider on a horse.
Fencing Instructor
Terry began fencing in foil and epee in 1983 with Andy Goldman, a local instructor who also taught fencing at Mesa College. Terry also fenced at General Dynamics, receiving private instruction with visiting masters from the Los Angeles area. Terry received instruction in sabre from Aaron Kandlif in El Cajon from 2000 to 2001. Fencing continues to be rewarding for Terry as an instructor/trainer at Twin Dragons.
